Return of the A Lister

There is a rumor that the Intercontinental Title match tonight will be a triple threat match. If that is true, then this is what’s going to happen:

The Miz will win tonight against Roman Reigns and John Cena. Raw is more fun with him as the Intercontinental Champion. Most importantly, Reigns isn’t right for the title. No, I’m not a Reigns Hater, I actually think he’s one of the best talents on the roster. The problem is, he is too powerful for it.

Yes, too powerful.

The only superstars on Raw who have a realistic shot at beating Reigns are Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and possibly Samoa Joe. The Miz can’t beat Reigns one-on-one so that’s why you would add another superstar to the match.

The match tonight should start off with Miz running out of the ring as the bell rings. Cena and Reigns will fight it out for a while. Maybe Miz will try to come back in the ring and Reigns will superman punch him back out.

It’ll end with Miz on Cena’s shoulders, Reigns spears Cena, and the Miz hits Reigns with the Skull Crushing Finale. New champion, Reigns goes on to WrestleMania to fight for the Universal Championship, everybody wins.

And The 2018 Royal Rumble Winner Is….

There are two superstars who stand a “realistic” chance of winning the Royal Rumble, and they are Finn Baylor and Shinsuke Nakamura. Both men have a ton of star power but NOTHING going on in their WWE careers. Nakamura is teaming with Randy Orton and Baylor has reformed the Baylor club and can’t stop smiling about it.

Baylor winning would mean a match against Brock Lesnar (who I assume is keeping his title). It wouldn’t be an interesting WrestleMania match against the Beast Incarnate, UNLESS they add Roman Reigns and make it a triple threat match.

But more on that later.

Nakamura winning would mean he would be taking on AJ Styles, his long-time nemesis. There was a preview of that at Money in the Bank, where the two exchanged an epic stare down followed by a lot of elbows and knees. Nakamura is 37 years old and has a lot of miles on those legs. He doesn’t have a very long WWE career in store for him, so they have to give him his title run now before his age starts to show more.

I really can’t see anyone else having a real shot at winning. Baron Corbin lost his chance when he went on a Twitter crusade, Randy Orton won last year, Bray Wyatt’s character is flat, and Elias does more guitar playing than actual wrestling these days. I don’t see a surprise entrance superstar winning either. CM Punk is always rumored to come back, but I would rather see him fight Aleister Black than compete for a title.

Baylor would be the favorite to win the Royal Rumble, but, either way, I predict that both men would have some kind of title shot at WrestleMania. Tune in January 28th and see how close I am to predicting a winner.
